  • Preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care of a patient undergoing spine surgery

Course Objectives

  • Discuss the anatomy of the spine
  • Identify indications for spine surgery
  • Discuss perioperative care for patients undergoing spine surgery
  • Describe safe practices in positioning and intraoperative care of the patient undergoing spine surgery

Course Outcome

After successfully completing the Periop 202 Spine Procedures course, perioperative nurses will demonstrate knowledge of current, evidence-based perioperative best practices related to care of patients undergoing spine surgery, as evidenced by passing the required posttest with a score of 80% or higher.

Contact Hours

Upon completion of the course and course evaluation, students will earn 1.7 contact hours.

This program is approved for up to 1.7 hours of AEUs by BASC Provider #0102.
