Election Statement
As leaders, it is our responsibility to develop sustainable strategies and empower capable individuals to successfully navigate the evolving landscape of our field. With AI and surgical innovations transforming perioperative nursing, our organization must remain at the forefront. This requires recruiting new perioperative members, engaging and supporting our current members, and honoring the wisdom of our retired colleagues. Our strength is rooted in our unwavering commitment to our members, driving both innovation and unity within our community.
With years of teaching experience, nine years in perioperative practice, and six years of dedicated involvement with AORN, I have consistently focused on member engagement and innovative solutions. Leading through the pandemic has taught me the value of resilience, creativity, and adaptability. My leadership is grounded in a servant’s heart, dedicated to empowering others and advocating passionately for the perioperative community. This is reflected in my advocacy for surgical smoke legislation, where I’ve strived to create safer environments for our community. Additionally, my children’s book, Little Miss Goes to Surgery, aims to boost health literacy and inspire future OR professionals.
If elected to the Nominating Committee, I will advocate for leaders who truly represent our diverse membership and are committed to fostering innovation and meaningful engagement. I pledge to be your advocate in selecting the best candidates who will lead us forward. Together, we can create a more connected and resilient community, unified by our collective strength. I humbly ask for your vote to continue serving you and the AORN community.
