Election Statement

Financial stewardship is particularly important for an organization to thrive. A CEO I worked with for many years frequently said, “No money, no mission.” This phrase has resonated with me and has become a mantra I have lived by in every leadership role I have held. In my role as a Perioperative Director, I was responsible for the operating, capital and strategic plans for 30 surgical suites, supporting departments, and a large Anesthesiology practice in a Level 1 trauma center. These experiences provided a solid foundation in finance and fiscal stewardship. I was also the lead for design and construction on a replacement Surgical and Heart Center. I am proud to say the project was under time and under budget and allowed the purchase of additional equipment through solid financial management and philanthropy efforts. I received an award for financial stewardship upon completion of the build. Additionally, I chaired a multidisciplinary team charged with identifying expense reduction initiatives without sacrificing staff positions. Over a million dollars in cost savings was realized and again I received an award for leading this team.

As a life member of AORN I have served on local, regional and national committees, task forces and the Pfiedler Board. If elected to the office of Treasurer, I am committed to working with the Board to serve AORN by ensuring the fiscal affairs of our organization through use of my financial expertise, integrity and communication transparency to our members. It would be my honor and privilege to serve.
