Election Statement
Why Richard Dorritie, PhD, MSN, RN, CNE, CNOR, for Nominating Committee? I am running for office because we need a ballot that motivates our membership to vote! As a member of your Nominating Committee, my vision is to ensure we continue the superb work of ensuring our strength and knowledge through diversity of representation while also ensuring clinical nurses are at our table. Your vote makes our organization strong.
I care deeply about our members and our organization. As a Nominating Committee member, I will collaborate to encourage, advance, advocate and seek out the voices and ideas from our entire membership for office. As a member of your Nominating Committee, I will draw upon my experience and contributions across AORN, from my local chapter level as nominating committee chair, as well as past board member, and president to state council co-chair, and my work on the national Research Committee. Not only have I been a long-time member of Nurses on Boards, focused on putting nurses in leadership positions, but I have been doing the same work as both a clinical nurse, mentor, professor and researcher.
My pledge to you is to bring excellent candidates forward, that are measured not just by their past accomplishments, but what they able to do going forward. I have the experience, drive, and passion to champion our future leaders as a member of your Nominating Committee. I humbly ask for your vote and look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
