Michelle L. Griffin, BSN, RN, CPSN, CNOR, is a Staff RN at Nashville VA Medical Center, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee. She earned an Associate of Applied Science in nursing from Tennessee State University, Nashville; a Bachelor of Arts in pre-medicine/biology from Fisk University, Nashville, Tennessee; and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Western Governors University, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Griffin has been a perioperative nurse for 15 years and a member of AORN for 12 years. She is a member of

Griffin has attended Congress five times in the past 10 years, each time as a delegate.

Election Statement
As nurses, we provide care, advocate, heal, unite, and empower each other to provide the ultimate best care. As we grow along our career, we utilize resources, hone skills, collaborate with others and use critical thinking skills to envision new possibilities that will produce optimal outcomes for all. I am a naturally outgoing, engaging person with an enthusiasm for life. My passion aligns with the values and mission of AORN and I will bring this dedication to this important role. I am engaged, committed, energetic, passionate and eager to serve and make a positive impact for nurses. As a Nominating Committee member, I will seek the most qualified candidates to promote excellence and lead us to decisions that are best for our patients, nursing, and our association. I would love the opportunity to serve our members and grow our membership by engaging everyone to their fullest potential. I see this as an opportunity to give back because so much has been given to me.
