Election Statement

Together We Rise. A brilliant statement by our President as she guides this coming year. As a candidate, it will be my responsibility to make that statement come alive. If elected, it’s my honor to help create a ballot of future leaders for AORN that will continue this forward momentum. Candidates who represent not just the best of what AORN represents but what it could become. I want to choose leaders who will honor and esteem the history, tradition, and knowledge that our seasoned nurses have earned while welcoming the enthusiasm, balance, and digital fluency that our newer nurses contribute. We need leaders who can challenge the norm, think creatively, and ensure everyone has a voice.

The current health care climate is more challenging than ever. We are being asked to do more with less, provide unparalleled nursing care while remaining cost conscious, continue our education and be present in our jobs but still find balance in our own health and well-being. Our patients are more knowledgeable, and that requires greater advocacy and higher expectations.

During my nursing career, I have experienced multiple facets of health care, from a staff nurse to a travel nurse, educator to leadership and now private practice. I know what challenges we face, and I have the experience to help choose and embolden our collective group of amazing leaders. I promise I will give my full effort to ensure we have the right leaders to make us stronger, together. Because only then, will we rise.
