Barbara Lee Nalley, CNOR, RN

Outstanding Volunteer Leadership

Barbara has been perioperative nurse for over 20 years and is a lifetime member of AORN. She currently practices as the Lead nurse practitioner/RNFA for Urogynecology for University of Maryland health systems. She has over the course of her career served on various national committees and task forces to help improve care of the perioperative patient.  She is a patient advocate and believes that patient safety is a priority. She has served as a chair, co-chair and coordinating council member with various Specialty assemblies. In addition, she has also served as a volunteer at Expo and serves as a mentor to perioperative nurses, advance practice nurses, residents and medical students. She has served at the chapter level as president and as a board member in addition to various committees. She has done multiple presentations and posters for AORN at the state and National level.

In addition to her volunteer work with AORN she also volunteers in her community, helping to feed the and clothe the homeless, working with the American Legion to support Veterans, and the SPCA. Barbara has also served over the last nine years as a board member and is the current president of her condo association.
