Texas Adopts Continuing Education Requirements for Surgical Technologists

The Texas legislature recently added a continuing education requirement for those surgical technologists who were grandfathered in under the ST certification law enacted in 2009. While certified surgical technologists were already required by their certifying body to obtain continuing education each year, House Bill 1748 codifies this requirement for certified technologists and adds the CE requirement for non-certified technologists who were allowed to continue working when the 2009 law was passed.
