AORN supports the efforts of journalists to report on the latest findings in perioperative management, teaching, and practice of perioperative nursing.

The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) represents the interests of more than 200,000 perioperative nurses, including more than 41,000 members. It is committed to increasing awareness of advances in patient and worker safety in the OR setting, as well as public policy issues that may affect operative and other invasive procedures.

AORN supports the efforts of journalists to report on the latest findings in perioperative management, teaching, and practice of perioperative nursing. Our clinical staff and leadership are experts in the standards and recommended practices for the perioperative settings in hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physician offices. They can be available to speak to the media, providing valuable perspective on health stories ranging from aseptic practice to environment of care to equipment and product safety.
