Ideas That Work: Symbols of Hope and Remembrance

It’s hard to believe that more than two years have passed since healthcare facilities started caring for COVID-19 patients. To remember the triumphs and loss, ChristianaCare’s Center for WorkLife Wellbeing created reflection rooms at its three campuses in Delaware and Maryland. Caregivers were able to light a personalized paper lantern with a flameless candle as a way to look forward to better times, but to never forget the difficult times of the past. “The reflection spaces were in recognition of the two-year anniversary of the first COVID-19 patients in Delaware and Maryland, as well as in remembrance of the challenges and changes of the past two years,” says Danielle Kuhn, operational team leader for ChristianaCare’s Center for WorkLife Wellbeing. “The spaces offered our caregivers a chance to stop and reflect on their experiences, as well as create paper lanterns with messages of hope and inspiration.”
