An anesthesia tech will spend a year in jail after agreeing to a plea deal stemming from accusations that he molested 4 patients, including one minor, at Stanford (Calif.) Hospital last year.
Robert Lastinger, 57, was fired by the hospital last April after several nurses reported seeing him touch the genitals of anesthetized male patients, including a 16-year-old. Under the plea deal, he pleaded no contest to 2 counts of sexual battery and was sentenced to the maximum stipulated sentence, followed by 3 years of probation, according to news reports. He must also register as a sex offender.
