One of the primary responsibilities of a leader is to ensure the continued safety and wellbeing of those they lead. Check in regularly with each member of your team to gauge their physical, mental and emotional health. Equip yourself to recognize and act when a team member is feeling overstressed or that their work-life balance is trending too strongly in the “work” direction. These conversations should be supportive in nature and focused on wellness. The goal is for team members to internalize that they are part of a workplace culture that prioritizes their health. In a dynamic job market, the focus on a wellness culture and individual needs will make them more likely to commit to your organization for the long haul.
