The AORN Recommended Practices for Autologous Tissue Management is open for public comment from Wednesday, July 30 through Sunday, August 31.
These recommended practices provide guidance to perioperative personnel for managing autologous tissue in the perioperative setting, including guidance for managing avulsed teeth, cranial bone flaps, parathyroid glands, skin, veins, and dropped autografts. Guidelines are provided for packaging and labeling, transporting and storing, and delayed replantation or autotransplantion of autologous tissue within the same facility.
The AORN Recommended Practices for Care of the Patient Receiving Local Anesthesia is open for public comment from Tuesday, August 26 through Tuesday, September 23.
The proposed Recommended Practices for Care of the Patient Receiving Local Anesthesia are presented for review and comment. These recommended practices provide guidance for the perioperative registered nurse (RN) caring for the patient receiving local anesthesia by injection, infiltration, or topical application. This document includes guidance for patient assessment, patient monitoring, recognition and treatment of local anesthetic systemic toxicity (LAST), assessment for local anesthetic allergies, and documentation of patient care.
