AORN's Groah Named to Elite List

AORN CEO and executive director, Linda Groah, RN, MSN, CNOR, NEA-BC, FAAN, was recognized as a “top ten clinical quality leader” in the January publication of Becker’s Operating Room. To help celebrate the honor, AORN staff added a surprise party to yesterday’s All Staff meeting agenda at the association’s headquarters.
“We’re all proud of the work Linda does to influence and support the role of the perioperative nurse,” said Anne Marie Herlehy, DNP, RN, CNOR, president of AORN. “When Linda and AORN receive this level of recognition and exposure for our work, it advances our mission to promote safety and optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures.”
Groah was recognized with physicians, administrators, and other nurse executives, including Donald Berwick, MD, former administrator of CMS, and Mark Chassin, MD, president of the Joint Commission. Becker’s is a recognized leader in health care industry publications which focus on hospitals and surgical centers. The Becker’s publications, including Becker’s ASC Review and Becker’s Hospital Review, are read by hospital and system leaders, and owners and operators of ambulatory surgical centers. This is the first year that Becker’s Operating Room has announced “Top Ten Clinical Quality Leaders”.
