San Diego Quiet Zone Project
In an effort to reduce train noise for downtown San Diego residents, businesses, and visitors, the San Diego Quiet Zone Project has been implemented. The project instructs that train and light rail engineers are no longer required to sound horns when approaching downtown rail stops.
With an active trolley station located directly across the street from the San Diego Convention Center, attendees regularly cross trolley tracks to enter downtown San Diego and the historic Gaslamp Quarter. Attendee safety is a priority, and we encourage anyone visiting our center to always look both ways when approaching tracks and to follow all posted directions.
