Preventing Surgical Site Infections: A Collaborative Approach to Improving Outcomes

Summary

According to the CDC, surgical site infections occur in as many as 20% of all surgical procedures. You can be a part of the solution to this pervasive problem. This seminar will provide collaborative and hands-on techniques to help prevent infections. Designed to be informative and interactive, this event is a half-day education seminar and then an (optional) afternoon hands-on workshop sponsored by 3M and Sage Products. The morning CE program will highlight the need for collaboration and include interactive exercises discussing issues and methods for bringing the team together to solve issues. Complimentary breakfast and lunch are provided.

Program Objectives:

  • Identify scientifically-based SSI prevention strategies
  • Discuss the barriers to the implementation of the evidence-based practices
  • Describe the impact of SSIs on quality and patient safety
  • Describe methods for improving interdisciplinary collaboration
